Empowering Developers and Earning Extra Cash: Adrian's Story

Meet Adrian Carolli, a proud member of the G2i community and a seasoned software engineer with a decade of experience, specializing in React and React Native development. Adrian has been enjoying the remote work lifestyle for the past five years, finding restful work with G2i clients while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Empowering Developers and Earning Extra Cash: Adrian's Story

When asked about his motivation to join G2i’s client referral program, Adrian’s response was refreshingly pragmatic: “It was around the holidays, and I thought it was a good way to earn some extra cash.” With practicality in mind, Adrian saw an opportunity to supplement his income while contributing to the G2i community — a perfect fit for someone who appreciates a good side hustle.

Adrian’s approach to referrals is grounded in personal connections. He values trust and mutual respect and is therefore prioritizing relationships with close friends and former colleagues who he thought could benefit from G2i’s talent pool. As he puts it, “I was kind of selective of the people I chose to speak to… I started with the people that I was close to.” Adrian focuses on how he can make his referrals feel less like a sales pitch; after all, he’s just facilitating introductions between people who can benefit from knowing each other.

In his recent efforts, Adrian made eight introductions within his inner circle — which took him around 30 minutes — resulting in two booked meetings and one job already posted on the G2i portal.

Not everyone is looking to hire immediately but Adrian remains optimistic: “I think there's a high probability of succeeding if people come to you looking for a developer already, as in wanting to hire you or know of your network, and then you refer them to G2i.” His referrals have not only introduced more companies to the idea of hiring freelancers and G2i's developer health mission, but also earned him $500 from the booked meetings. In the process, he’s becoming known in the wider developer community as a super-connector, someone who knows the right people and can be trusted to make the right introductions.

Looking ahead, Adrian is committed to nurturing his connections, while balancing professional outreach and personal rapport. He views G2i's client referral program as a platform to empower fellow developers and strengthen the tech community, going beyond the monetary benefits.

Adrian's journey underscores the significance of authentic networking and community engagement in today's digital landscape. By supporting one another and building meaningful connections, we not only thrive individually but also contribute to a stronger, more interconnected tech ecosystem.
